I am from a place where most everything is pink,
A place where it’s mostly dirt
Things I heard but never seen
I am from the old days where I used to go outside in the rain and lay down on the ground
Where you never heard a bit of a silence
I am from the old days where I didn’t have to worry about anything
I am from the old days when I could go home and see all my family together
I am from the old days when I used to get home and see cartoons
I am from the old days where I didn’t know the word stress
Those days where anyone would do anything to go back
I am from the old days where you could see people smiling
I am from the old days where you could feel the word love
I often wonder if those old days will come back
I am from the old days were electronics were not the answer to happiness
I am from the old days were school friends mattered a lot more than work
Now I look back and there are just memories
and asking myself if those things will return…
But what’s life if you can’t make the most of it?
Nothing is simple and straightforward anymore
Nothing is as it seems
I just want to go back to the old days
I am from the old days when a piece of a cookie made me happy
I am from the old days when everything was fine
I am from the old days where I was excited for Christmas and opening gifts
Sometimes I wish I could rewind to the old days
and press pause for the rest of my life
I am from the old days
