A Great Start to the School Year at Pathways Middle College
We’ve had a fantastic first full week of school at Santa Fe South Pathways Middle College, and we’re excited for an amazing year ahead. We want to share some of our early successes and provide a few important reminders for families.
Celebrating Our Successes
We’ve successfully launched our new Gradient Curriculum and Platform, and all students are fully scheduled and engaged. Our new daily schedule is working well, and our teachers have completed great training to ensure a focus on relationship, relevance, and rigor in their classrooms.
Our fall sports are off to a great start, with both Cross Country and Volleyball teams already in action. Our new athletic off-season program is also underway.
We’re incredibly proud of our students’ performance on their recent MAP testing. We’ve completed over 98% of our fall testing, with impressive results:
- 79% of students met or exceeded expectations in Reading.
- 84% of students met or exceeded expectations in Mathematics.
Important Reminders and Opportunities
We need your help to ensure the rest of the year is just as successful. Please take note of the following:
- New Start Time: School now starts ten minutes earlier at 7:50 a.m. Please help your student arrive on time so they don’t miss any instruction.
- Cell Phone Policy: A new state law prohibits cell phones during school hours. Some students are finding this transition challenging, and we appreciate your support in reinforcing this policy at home.
- Student Pick-Up: Please remember that student pick-up is located in the back of the OCCC building in Parking Lot G. To keep traffic flowing smoothly, please drive forward and exit by the old pool area instead of making a U-turn.
- Absences: If your student will be absent, a parent or guardian must call the school before the absence.
- Check Grades: Please begin checking your student’s work and grades regularly in the Gradient Platform and PowerSchool.
Key Dates
Please note that our schedule is different from the rest of the district for the upcoming holiday.
- Labor Day Vacation: September 1st and 2nd. Pathways will be in session the rest of that week.
Volleyball Schedule:

Thank you for being our partner in your student’s education. We look forward to a successful and productive school year!
Sincerely,
Christopher McAdoo
Principal
